So I was thinking about 3.0 recently, and was wondering about how maps will be implemented into the new version of the gamemode. This got me thinking on a way we could use maps to help extend the excitement of 3.0 after it comes out. I had a few ideas that I will get into below. Only drop about 15 maps at initial release: Currently in 2.0, my best guess is that there is anywhere between 75 to 100+ maps in the gamemode. While this does add complexity to the game, a lot of these maps are either bad for gameplay, not fun to play on, or just not very good in general. I think at initial release of 3.0, only 15-20 maps should be added. This will make the game appear more simple and well rounded. Here are a few maps I feel should be in this 15: Nuketown Beach Bayview Carbon Cargo Central City Erosion Express Favela Getaway Goron City (old) Grind Hardhat Interchange Resort Rust Summit Showdown Terminal Zoo Maybe some of the newer maps too from the January map update, but I don't remember barely any of them so i dunno Possibly even some completely new maps Implement "Map Monday" & Weekly Friday Map Update: In the list above I included 20 maps from 2.0. However, this list of maps will continue to expand all throughout MCI 3.0's lifetime... or maybe for the first few months at least. My idea is to add something in game called Map Monday, where basically every Monday, when you log into the MCI 3.0 gamemode, something will pop up in chat asking you to vote out of 2 maps for a map you want to be added to the game. These maps could either be old maps from 2.0, or new creations by the build team. But on Tuesday, the votes will be tallied up and then on Friday, the map will be added to the game, and maybe appear in the number 1 spot of the map vote for that whole day. This way, players would be attracted to the server not only on Friday when the new map is added, but also Monday, when they get on to vote on what they want the next map to be. This could work as a thing on the forums, but I think it would be better if it was actually in game. Maps are semi hard for the owners to add, but I think 1 map a week isn't too difficult and is possible, if the owners are devoted enough to the cause. What do you guys think?
