So I was thinking about 3.0 recently, and was wondering about how maps will be implemented into the new version of the gamemode. This got me thinking on a way we could use maps to help extend the excitement of 3.0 after it comes out. I had a few ideas that I will get into below.

Only drop about 15 maps at initial release: Currently in 2.0, my best guess is that there is anywhere between 75 to 100+ maps in the gamemode. While this does add complexity to the game, a lot of these maps are either bad for gameplay, not fun to play on, or just not very good in general. I think at initial release of 3.0, only 15-20 maps should be added. This will make the game appear more simple and well rounded. Here are a few maps I feel should be in this 15:
    • Nuketown
    • Beach
    • Bayview
    • Carbon
    • Cargo
    • Central City
    • Erosion
    • Express
    • Favela
    • Getaway
    • Goron City (old)
    • Grind
    • Hardhat
    • Interchange
    • Resort
    • Rust
    • Summit
    • Showdown
    • Terminal
    • Zoo
Maybe some of the newer maps too from the January map update, but I don't remember barely any of them so i dunno
Possibly even some completely new maps

Implement "Map Monday" & Weekly Friday Map Update: In the list above I included 20 maps from 2.0. However, this list of maps will continue to expand all throughout MCI 3.0's lifetime... or maybe for the first few months at least. My idea is to add something in game called Map Monday, where basically every Monday, when you log into the MCI 3.0 gamemode, something will pop up in chat asking you to vote out of 2 maps for a map you want to be added to the game. These maps could either be old maps from 2.0, or new creations by the build team. But on Tuesday, the votes will be tallied up and then on Friday, the map will be added to the game, and maybe appear in the number 1 spot of the map vote for that whole day. This way, players would be attracted to the server not only on Friday when the new map is added, but also Monday, when they get on to vote on what they want the next map to be. This could work as a thing on the forums, but I think it would be better if it was actually in game.
Maps are semi hard for the owners to add, but I think 1 map a week isn't too difficult and is possible, if the owners are devoted enough to the cause.

    What do you guys think?

No central city instead dome. Central city is one of those larger maps that isn’t good.

Please don't bring back beach until that water spot is fixed. I'm ok with every other map that you have listed.

no big maps.. Zoo has too many hiding spots and too much builds/blocks between hiding spots. I don't really like zoo. Strangely, I do like Cargo. I believe a map like this simple, should be the idea for the mci 3.0. Dome is a good one to keep. Just saying as for smaller maps, Citadel is a straight simple map. (not saying this because I built it) Not too many hiding spots and it is more of a combat map.

Over all I feel the larger maps should be taken out. Maybe for old times, like on an anniversary or holiday, add a couple of maps from 2.0 in.

I think the idea of voting on a map should be taken out. Too many maps are repeated to the point that everyone hates the map. I think just a line up that repeats, say 1 through 10 then resets/jumbles the maps and does another 1 through 10 different order, and so on.. that way all maps get played. After, say, the 30th map played we get to vote. (give or take # of maps played)

I personally like it. Over 70 maps is just way too out of control. It should be neat and organized like this. +1 from me!

I think really big maps with too many hiding spots should be removed. People always spend half of the time just trying to look for/reach survivors on large maps. This not only slows down the game, but it gets really boring. Hiding isn’t necessarily the most fun Small maps like Erosion, Firing Range, Rust, Cargo, Express, Dome, Goron City, etc... should be kept since they are the most engaging maps due to their size and simplicity. It’s not a coincidence that these maps are some of the community’s favorites. When 3.0 releases I think there should still be 35+ maps to keep variety.

Where the heck is Hijacked? Firing Range?!!?

-but I completely agree with keeping less maps (not too less), and like said above, maps shouldn't be large with many hiding spots.

Hiding spots shouldn't be built by builders, they should more be random spots on the map (I mean really sneaky spots that were built specifically for hiders shouldn't exist). Hiding spots on erosion feel balanced because they're sort of in the open on a map that's easy to get around and learn. And interchange has to be the best map, It's a medium sized map with no hiding spots anywhere. And please don't add a single button room on any map.

@Rockin I believe redstone has now been disabled so button spots no longer exist

Personally I think all maps should be looked at by the community and have there opinions voiced. Such as for a hr or 2 until mci3.0 Ben or jack get online for a weekend with players and maps are chosen and opinions are gathered.

Also carbon I would like to see some hiding spots removed these aren’t major but they are there

Spots if it is to be changed to be removed:
Left of Spawn there is a truck and a white banner on the wall you can walk through to get to a room that should be removed.
In the building left of Spawn the spot were you drop into a 1x1 Hole is quite unfair

Block off hole in pillar from building in front of Spawn so no one can get stuck. And I believe there is another 1x1 home on the side you need to parkour to.

These small changes just shrink the possibilities of hiding spots and with less mobility kits it would make the map fairer.
