Hello Mayhemians! So earlier this year, I posted an idea for MCI called Companion Crates, which basically were meant to solve this one problem I have with companions -- right now, there's really no reason to kill them. Yes, killing them makes it easier to kill the owner of the companion, but I feel like more could be built off of this. The community seemed pretty mixed about Companion Crates, so nearly a year later, I'm coming out with a revised version...
    Companion Drops!
Now basically, companion drops are special items, given to the infected that kills the companion. These items act as any other item, but are exclusive, based on whatever companion you killed. They have a range of different effects, and kind of assist in creating a conflict when using companions, which is... yes, companions help you, but when they die, they offer an item that infected can use against the human. Currently they just give 1 cookie, but I feel like these companion drops will add more to MCI.

So, the drops are as followed...
Turkey Companion - drops 1 cooked chicken, which can be eaten by the infected.
Squid Companion - drops 1 inc sac, which can be thrown and acts like a blindness grenade
Sheep Companion - drops 1 mutton, which can be eaten by the infected and heal 4 hearts.
Spider Companion - drops 1 spider eye, gives swiftness I for 15 seconds
Elf Companion - drops 50 cookies
Pot o' Gold Companion - drops 1 gold nugget, which can be thrown and acts like a blindness grenade
Bunny Companion - gives you 1 frag grenade
Cupig Companion - drops 1 cooked pork, which can be eaten
Patriotic Companion - drops 1 netherstar, which can be thrown and acts like a sticky grenade
Jack O lanturn Companion - drops pumpkin, which can be thrown and acts like a fire grenade
Reindeer Companion - drops ice block, which can be thrown and acts like a sticky grenade
Bat Companion - drops 1 bat egg which spawns a bat that attacks players

I had a little trouble coming up with some of these ideas, such as the Patriotic and Bat companions, so if you guys have any ideas, be sure to comment them. Thanks for reading, opinions on the idea are greatly appreciated!

I'm personally voting no because yes as this is nice for infected killing companions does not need another purpose. As you stated killing a companion makes it easier to help kill the user. This is monumentally true which is why I believe there shouldn't be another incentive to target companions.

but it helps the infected kill the survivors, which is something that's needed.

If this gets implemented people will chose their companions based on how good they are for the infected. Because I'd rather not have a companion then a companion that gives free 8hp (4hearts) when it gets killed.

But the benefits the companion brings could outweigh the drops ,, and no drop is set in stone

To be fair a free frag every single game is very good. I personally would find more use not spawning my bunny...

Like I said, this idea is meant to make companions into sort of like a double-edged sword. Yes, a frag is helpful to infected, but will the items the bunny supplies balance it out?

I agree with @Furiosus_ but a way it could be done is make the drops random. I do like the idea because I could use all the help I could get but to be fair random drops would balance it.

I mean as Jackson once said “Everything is a 50% chance because it either is or isn’t”

So just make a giant list of items like the following:
Frags make this one low percent
    Sticky
    Flash
Make it up to 100 cookies for killing a companion
    Strength 1 5 second s
    Speed for 15 seconds
    Severed head
    And some food

If these rewards weren't so backfiring and instead gave a chance then maybe. But the way this was suggested, definitely no. How would giving infected a frag/50 COOKIES be worth it at all?

I feel like humans wouldn't die, because infected would just target companions for cookies. Why kill a human for 3 cookies when you can kill a companion for 50?

What if companions only dropped something, at a chance, if the infected had Scavenger Pro?

Instead of those op drops, (sorry nitro) I think killing a companion should give an uncooked prokchop that heals 1 heart. The name of the prokchop should be
    RIP [Person]'s [X] companion
