As long as the combat features can be toggle-able, I'll be happy with the update (specifically losing blocking and the tool cooldown). I'm really looking forwards to the new blocks, arrows, mob, shields, and the elytra because they all add a new gameplay mechanic to the game. The blocks, because I'm a builder and they add a new yellow-tanish colored block that isn't ugly like endstone, the purpur blocks (because purple is a nice color), the grass path blocks because paths, and a new head to mount above fireplaces. The new arrows because who wouldn't want a arrow that makes your target light up brighter than your future (besides the person being shot). The mob, i.e. the shulker because new kit yay. Shields so that we could actually have a riot shield instead of just an iron door. And the elytra because it could probably be used in a new kit (like a fallen angel or something would be pretty dope).

Definitely have to make the lingering potions a prestige perk. That would be hot.

I'm sure the weapon cooldown and dual wielding can be dealt with to keep the older version on PvP, it's not even hard. Heck, most 1.9 PvP features can be easily toggled.

But I don't know about sword blocking tbh, that's my only concern.

    Just a heads-up.

EDIT: Just found Dinnerbone saying this: https://mobile.twitter.com/dinnerbone/status/603947223269904384

It's been posted in May 2015, but it's still on the topic of Minecraft 1.9. It doesn't confirm that block hitting will be the same though, he stated "it's being added as a proper feature, not as a bug." Could they be changing block hitting?

I like the aspect of cooldown for 1v1s as it doesnt make it whoever clicks the fastest wins. MCI however where you are either fighting 50 humans at once, or 50 balanced infected kits, you kinda need to spam in order to survive, or actually to get a kill.

I'm so excited for this update, usually when a new updates come around I'm only excited for new mobs part but this update improved things that needed to be severely addressed. Standouts include:

    - PVP cooldown, because spam clicking your mouse was so hard.
    - FPS improvements, mobs/fireworks no longer reduce performance.
    - Shields, hopefully this puts to use the riot shield perk.
    - Dual wielding, I can only hope this makes this very interesting for MCI.
    - More arrow types, though hopefully the incorporation of this into MCI does not affect inventory space. Maybe there could be some sort of arrow selection before going into the round? Obviously the arrow amounts will differ by the type chosen.

MCI is about to get a whole lot more interesting..

People keeps on looking at the zombies side on how they will win everytiem. The humans with swords get a buff as well, did you guys not see if you attack a zombie, there is a chance it may push all other zombies around it back a little? Shields could be a prestige perk, all that shit to make it easier to fight the zombies

The knock back thing on works it you are standing still and it does like 0.5 blocks of knock back. It is very useful for fighting zombies in survival that are slow, but not against ones that can run and jump as fast as you can. Also I don't see the point of adding shields as a prestige perk, it's like using prestige tokens to be able to click right your sword.

What this actually means for Project Mayhem isn't much. We have a new gamemode on the way coming out very shortly after/around the 1.9 update and a bunch of plans for some 1.9 updates for MCInfected 2.0.

We have some really cool stuff planned and overall I haven't been as excited about the future of Project Mayhem as I am now with all that we have planned.

Can I just ask.... Are you going to be toggling the PvP cooldown or try it with the new mechanics?

Jittering in joust is fun, but who the heck swings their sword 5 times in 0.4 seconds? xD

    RIP my high score of 164 ;~;

Oh wait, the first swing would still be the same damage, so spamming clicks would still work.

After the first swing, it only deals like half a heart with a sword spam clicking..
