When I started writing this, it was just about positivity, but it became much more than that. There's an apology at the bottom, but I wanted to just state that this may not make sense because of my writing style. I haven't removed anything from when I started writing, that's why the first paragraph contradicts itself by saying the title is only Positivity.

Hello everyone, it's me. Resident depressed boy Harvey.

This thread is about positivity, as it says in the title. Due to my 20th birthday being next week, I've been feeling really shit about myself and where I'm at in life, so it's been pretty bad. But I'm pushing through my sadness to bring you a rant about positivity.

Why is this important to you Harvey?
Well I live with my father, my step-mum and my brother. My father is very ill all the time, my step-mum is on some medication which makes her miserable and my brother is bullied at school. I'm surrounded my people swamped by negative thoughts and just sadness. I'm the same. As most of you have read about my life in my last major thread, my sadness comes from my past. The thing is though, you can't let people around you add onto your sadness. Show compassion for them, make sure they understand that you care about them and will help them through anything, but don't let it swamp you. Always give yourself room to breathe so you don't fall into a pit of despair. I've been trying to find pockets of happiness throughout the 9 years I've been living in this house, and it's been working for the most part. I'm still here aren't I?

Harvey, I think you're getting sidetracked. I thought this wasn't 'The Story of Harvey - Part 3', What are you doing?
I'm just writing everything that comes into my head. Don't judge me, I'm trying to be helpful.

Alright I'm sorry, but can you start talking about positivity as a whole instead of making it personal?
    You got it.

Positivity and politeness seems to be a rare sight these days. When you play games like Overwatch, Dead By Daylight or even Town of Salem, you get people raging at you and calling you a moron, an idiot or worse. What is the point in being this negative towards another player? For most of them, they've paid money in order to play that game and no one has the right to yell at them for doing badly. They're a human being with feelings, problems and families and you could be adding to the stresses of their life.

But Harvey, they're ruining my fun. Why shouldn't I have a go at them?
If you feel the need to shout and call people names because they ruined a small part of your day, then you are a mentally unhinged human being. You could be ruining that persons whole day. You don't know what they're going through, what if video games are a way of escaping from their problems? Do you really want to be the person to ruin their only piece of happiness in these trying times?

    So what should I do?
Be nice to the people that annoy you. If it's in a video game, explain your frustrations and maybe even offer to teach them what to do so they know what to do next time. There's too much shit going on in this world right now, we don't need more anger towards our fellow man.

Harvey... I think you've lost track of your initial point. I'm going to take over for a minute.

This isn't just a video game issue. This is a life issue. There's too many people in this crazy world being horrible to each other, you should all try and help out anyone you can. If you see someone crying by themselves at school, help them out. If you notice a friend starting to become toxic to someone on the internet, talk them out of their bad behaviour and teach them about respect.

I look at this community and I see a lot of different people. I don't like some of you, but I try my damn hardest to help everyone I can. We should all be trying to build each other up rather than starting stupid fights on here and in the Discord that lead to nowhere. I'm the biggest hypocrite when it comes to this because I've started arguments recently for no reason, but I'm changing that.

All I want in this life is for everyone to be happy. It's an impossible thing to want, but just making anyone happy is a win.

I'm sorry if this was confusing to anyone. I just think we all need to take a step back and look at ourselves.

    Have a good night everyone,
    Harvey Oliver John Pearman

Ye life can get quite rough sometimes but when it does I always like to think back to this little video that I watched a while back:

For me this video was a real kicker and it got me going, for a bit. Eventually I fell into the same old boring cycle of self-pity and sadness but that's when I decided to watch the video again and it got me going, again. So I guess I just needed to "refuel" my brain. Anyways I just wanted share my experience and I want you to know that I'm rooting for you, all the way from Sweden:D (I also wish that they added a thumps-up emote on the forums.)

On a side note, I really love it when you write because you almost always keep it long. Which might be seen as something negative but I thoroughly enjoy it because as a non-native english speaker, it gives me something to look at and delve into. For exemple I can look at all the different words and sentences that you use to describe something/your situation, which I can then add to my plethora of fucking essays that I have to write, so cheers for that.o_O
